CLIENT

  • Baw Baw Shire

Won in an open tender situation, Kubale Constructions was awarded the contract to completely renew and extend the existing shire offices. The partial demolition began in Jan 2015 which required the preservation of the superstructure including the valued existing structural timber beams.

The building architecture and colour and texture palettes reflect striking references to the various environments found in the shire. These include the inverted eave lines referencing the alpine ranges and the colours and patterns of the rainforests, rivers and geology of the region.

The increased footprint of the project was just over 1500 sqm which included open plan office space, acoustically designed meeting rooms with movable partitions, commercial grade wet areas, the reception and entrance foyer and a services room. Construction included the complex eave lines, significant internal glazing and the external hard landscaped areas.

At less than 6 months, the timeframe was very tight. The project was completed on time and on budget and the client has repeatedly expressed their satisfaction with the way we conducted ourselves and executed the project.
